skates for child size 5-9 (2 yo)

My 2 yo (almost 3) wants inline skates. She's been skating around the
house in her brother's size 12 (child) skates. They are about 6 sizes
too big for her, but she does surprisingly well.

I can find ice skates in her size (she's just starting with those), but
not inline skates. Rollerblade's smallest size starts at size 12 child.

K2 (awful web site) has two adjustable skates:

in sizes 3-6 and 6-8.

This doesn't make much sense to me, if those were US sizes they'd be
missing sizes 8-12.

Anyone know of a solution for a 3yo w/ size 6-7 child feet?

I can strongly reccomend Roces Orlando, which are available in a
8-11jr.

I bought a pair for my 3 year old for her birthday last year. Excellent
quality, comfort, weight and adjustability. They were a touch too big
when she got them, but they are fine now.

I don't know what the availability will be like where you are, but they
were hard to get here in Australia last year from around May to
September.

These were hard to find in the US, but I located a pair at Inline
Sports in Sunnyvale CA.

They only had black in the 2004 model. I couldn't figure out the web
site sizing so I phoned in my order. It cost $80 and came in a week or
so. The packaging was pretty marginal -- looks like they threw the
skates and a few parts into an old box -- without packing material.
Still, everything seems to work, even if we might not have gotten a
full set of spare parts. The skates are lovely, very robust and look
sharp. My 2 yo (ok, almost 3) is gliding all over the house in them.

That model has hardly change since it was released (in 1996-7 I think),
so I wouldn't expect anything to change to the '05 model anyway.

I don't think the packaging has ever been particularly special, if you
got any form of spares, it's a miracle. All that came with the ones I
got was a short axle (to take the heel brake off), and an allen key
which were in a little zip lock bag. The skates were just in plastic
bag to stop the box scuffing them.

The old zoom and dazzle skates from Rollerblade came in size 10 but that is the
smallest I have seen from RB...they also made some Micro-blades in 10's as
well.

In the case of the "zooms" they had flat hard plastic wheels and no real
bearings so they were designed to go slow..they also lacked much of a inner
boot. I used to put my child in them with slippers on to take up the slack.

Sooo, my best suggestion is to get some of the smallest adjustable skates(RB
makes a 10-13(1) size in the X-tenblade)and then put your kids slippers on or
several socks and try to get the foot in the boot ....not the best solution but
it may work.
